Snatch Revisited

Guy Ritchie’s follow up to ‘Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels’ is just as hilarious as it predecessor. This film always bring me back to my adolescence, when my friends and I would gather to watch movies on Saturday night. This film is exceptional in that it executes an artful approach to following an enormous diamond through the underground criminal society of London and tastefully tying together a melting-pot of extraordinarily gifted actors.
This was my first Jason Statham movie, considering I did not watch ‘Lock Stock…’ until after wards, so I did not feel like I was watching a action star try his hand at an artsy project. Brad Pitt’s portrayal of the character Mickey was another reason to idolize him as a masculine icon. And finally, even Benicio Del Toro’s role as Franky Four Fingers was enough to make me appreciate his acting skills, even though he was on screen for all of ten minutes.
Overall I could watch this movie over and over again, and I think I might have at some point in my high school stint. I wish I could say the same for the future Guy Ritchie films.
